18+ Student Oyster कार्ड क्या है?
18+ Student Oyster photocard एक physical Oyster card है जो आपकी London के किसी institution में student status से linked होती है। यह Transport for London (TfL) की सभी services — Tube, bus, DLR, London Overground, Elizabeth line, और Tram — पर adult-rate Travelcard और Bus & Tram Pass खरीदने पर 30% छूट देती है।
एक ज़रूरी बात: यह discount pay-as-you-go (PAYG) fares पर लागू नहीं होता। बिना कोई pass load किए card tap करने पर आप normal adult rate देंगे। छूट तभी मिलती है जब card पर Travelcard या Bus & Tram Pass add किया हो।

कौन apply कर सकता है?
इन चारों शर्तों को पूरा करना ज़रूरी है:
- उम्र: 18 साल या उससे ज़्यादा
- पढ़ाई का प्रकार: London के किसी institution में full-time course

30% discount किस पर मिलता है?
Discount उन Travelcard और Bus & Tram Pass पर मिलता है जो आप अपने Student Oyster card में load करते हैं।
Travelcard आपको चुने गए TfL zones में unlimited travel देता है:
- Zones 1–2: central London और ज़्यादातर inner areas को cover करता है
- Zones 1–3, 1–4, 1–5, 1–6: दूर रहने वाले students के लिए

Apply कैसे करें?
- 18+ Student Oyster application page पर जाएं
- Drop-down list से अपना institution select करें
- Passport-size photo upload करें — plain background, face clearly visible
- Enrolment proof upload करें (university के registrar या admissions का letter, full-time status और course dates के साथ)
- Debit या credit card से £20 admin fee pay करें
- Card post से आने का इंतज़ार करें — TfL के अनुसार 10 working days तक लग सकते हैं
Card मिलने के बाद किसी भी Tube station की ticket machine पर, station के पास newsagent पर, या tfl.gov.uk पर जाकर Travelcard या Bus & Tram Pass add कर सकते हैं।
हर साल renewal
Card एक academic year के लिए valid होता है। हर नए साल की शुरुआत में TfL account में login करके नया enrolment proof upload करें — TfL आपकी student status verify करके discount reactivate कर देता है। Renewal के लिए कोई fee नहीं है।
अगर card expire हो जाए और आपने renew न किया हो, तो PAYG taps फिर से normal adult rate पर charge होंगे।
Student Oyster vs 16–25 Railcard

UK आने से पहले apply करें
UK आने से पहले online apply कर सकते हैं — बस course acceptance letter और UK delivery address चाहिए। Halls of residence का address काम करता है।

Student Oyster चाहिए या normal Oyster काफी है?

क्या Student Oyster से London के बाहर travel कर सकते हैं?
Travelcard सिर्फ TfL zones के लिए है। अगर आपका Travelcard ऐसे zones cover करता है जहाँ National Rail stations भी हैं, तो आप उन stations से exit कर सकते हैं — लेकिन National Rail train से किसी दूसरे शहर नहीं जा सकते।
Course खत्म होने पर क्या होगा?
