The UK has replaced physical BRP cards with a digital eVisa. Your immigration status is now stored online in your UKVI account. You need to set this up as soon as you arrive — it is how you prove your right to live, study, and work in the UK.
Go to gov.uk/evisa and sign in or create an account using the email address you used when applying for your visa. Use the same details exactly.
Once logged in you will see your immigration status, visa expiry date, and any work or study conditions. Screenshot or save this — you will need to share it with your university and landlord.
Instead of showing a physical card, you now share a "share code" from your UKVI account. Landlords, employers, and your university will ask for this. Generate a new code each time — they expire after 90 days.
If you were issued a BRP card before the eVisa rollout it may still be valid. Check your visa expiry date. However you should still create a UKVI account as the BRP is being fully retired.
Contact your university international student office immediately. Do not wait — you cannot prove your immigration status without access to your eVisa.
